THE ARCHITECTURE THAT FLOATS WITH OUR FLOWING “GHOST”
A house with a strong character: it stands out for the precision of its lines, the balance between light and shadow, and a sequence of layered spaces that open the interior to natural light, while deliberately maintaining a detached relationship with the surrounding environment.
The project is designed by the prestigious firm Pitsou Kedem Architects, active primarily in Israel and more recently in Europe. It adopts a modernist language based on minimalism, reduction, clean lines, and a clear separation of materials.
Their approach aims to eliminate the superfluous in order to emphasize the purity of form, the meaning of spaces, and the perception of comfort and tranquility. This constant pursuit of simplicity and precision gives their projects a unique and sophisticated identity
Within an architectural context defined by strong, tactile materials — such as architectural concrete, steel, and bamboo — the choice of our minimal sliding system, mod. GHOST, proves to be strategic: the slim profiles disappear from view, leaving room for the purity of lines and the strength of volumes.
The possibility of creating large openings, with low thresholds and essential detailing, reinforces the idea of an architecture that “floats,” where the perception of physical boundaries dissolves and space extends beyond the walls
This project demonstrates how architecture can balance solidity and permeability through the careful selection of materials and the organization of spaces, playing with contrasts — solid and void, dark and light, fixed and adjustable — to create a home that is protected yet open, controlled yet dynamic.
